'Add a to watchlist' button in the market place for items we're interested in purchasing. 
Alert the seller in order for them to make a private sell price offer.
Perhaps an option to bid from the marketplace too.

The bid option would be amazing. This is exactly what I feel is missing.

I have a lot of bees I take an interest but the price sometimes are too high for my taste. I would love the option to put in a price that I am willing to pay for the seller to see.
